February Recognitions are here and all are something I feel are worth recognizing while some can contribute to the loss of a loved one.

February is Black History month, National Cancer Prevention month, and Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention month. To learn more on how you can protect your teens, please visit: https://www.betterhelp.com/advice/current-events/national-teen-dating-violence-awareness-and-prevention-month-what-you-need-to-know/.

Week-long: National School Counseling Week begins February 4th. See what your school offers for counseling! Some school counselors have more resources on professional counseling outside of school so if you are looking for more, please ask them.

National Justice for Animals begins February 23rd and you can learn more about this topic by visiting https://aldf.org/project/national-justice-for-animals-week/
Special days of February:

World Cancer Day is February 4th, to learn more and donate please visit: https://www.uicc.org/what-we-do/events/world-cancer-day.

Safer Internet Day is February 8th. Please look out for your children and keep track of what they see. The internet can be a dark place.

Of course, Valentine’s Day is February 14th, which can be hard when we’ve lost a loved one. Find ways to celebrate the love and share it with those who are still here too! This is perfect for the holiday on February 17th, Random Act of Kindness Day. Do something selfless for a stranger, even asking about your waitress’s day is sure to make her smile!
